Apple Inc today has announced in the their press release that iPad 2 will be launched in Japan on Thursday, April 28, 2011 and Hong Kong, Singapore, Korea and eight addtional countries on Friday, April 29, 2011. Which are the eight additional countries? Is Malaysia in the list?
This time it’s getting more real. With this screenshot from Machines’ fanpage in Facebook, I can be sure that iPad 2 will be launched in Malaysia on April 29, 2011.

This is what T. Kugan, Maxis’ Vice President & Head of Products, Devices & Innovationn said during the launch of Maxis Integrated Partner in Education (MIPE) on April 5, 2011.
One source said that this news has basis due to the fact that Maxis supposedly has a very good relationship with Apple. Apple has mentioned that Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea & addtional countries will have iPad 2 launch this coming April 2011. This news has seriously reduced the chances of Malaysia to be in the list of ‘additional countries to have iPad 2 launch’. 🙁
April 2011 will be the month which Apple fanboys and fangirls in Hong Kong, Korea and Singapore will be the happiest. iPad 2 has been confirmed to launch in their countries in the month of April 2011.
The price of iPad 2 in Hong Kong, Korea and Singapore is not confirmed. The launch of iPad 2 in 25 countries (UK, France, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Ireland, Italy and etc) on March 25, 2011 will proceed as planned even though there had been speculation that there might be shortage of iPad 2 due to the earthquake in Japan.
The Apple staffer declined to give details about the iPad 2 or 3, but said:
“For the iPad 2 don’t get your hopes up too high. That’s all I’m going to say. They’ve had a number of problems along the way, and the third-generation iPad is the one to make a song and a dance about.”
Reading this statement from the Internet really dampens my spirit in getting iPad 2. That’s was hours before the announcement of iPad 2.
