Yet Another Related Posts Plugin (YARPP) is BETTER than LinkWithin Plugin!

This is it. Good bye LinkWithin.

I have seen many times that LinkWithin does not give many related posts within my blog. It just simply fills in the blanks for the sake of making the empty slots full without considering my readers’ main concern: getting related posts about the current post that might interest my readers.

Frustated, I look around for antoher better plug-in and finally I found one. It’s called Yet Another Related Post Plugin(YARPP).

Quoting from the website, “An advanced and versatile algorithm: Using a customizable algorithm considering post titles, content, tags, and categories, YARPP calculates a “match score” for each pair of posts on your blog. You choose the threshold limit for relevance and you get more related posts if there are more related posts and less if there are less.”

Nicely done. This is how YARPP does things. I am satisfied.

You actually get to see the scores of each post that is being selected to be listed under the Yet Another Related Posts title. Then, you can choose which to keep and which one to discard. Isn’t that cool?

There are more information about this WordPress plugin. You can view it here.

More over, I find out that if you use picture as your thumbnail, it can slow down your pageload. This might affect your Google PageRank.

This is what LinkWithin does for me for my iPad 2 joke post. What does BlogFest Asia 2010 or AirAsia or Wang Lee Hom has to do with iPad 2? This really makes me mad!!! That’s why I am not using LinkWithin any more.

So, let’s welcome Yet Another Related Post Plugin to’s family of WordPress plugins.

This is my review of WordPress plugins, both Yet Another Related WordPress  plugin and LinkWithin WordPress plugin.

What’s your say? Have you made your change?

I have also ditched LinkWithin for YARP. Though I like the thumbnails from LinkWithin, I also have the same concern as yours.

Yup. I liked the thumbnails too. Too bad. But having picture as thumbnail might slow down the page loading and might affect our Pagerank. So, YARPP is still a good one.
